Whee. That's a fun trip down food-memory lane. Enough for now. But there is more where that came from, so stay tuned for food/drink items from: Barcelona! DC! And other places.

I think beverages should count for this thing (the blog.) Here is a picture of a fly that landed in my beer at Oktoberfest. That lush.

Ay, perro! Whose dog and/or beer is this?! I have no clue.

\A stein transaction. I don't think these pictures are all mine.
I had a pretzel.

And aside: Two of my friends square danced in the street and had their pic in the paper. That has nothing to do with food, but whatever.

I was in a conference in Kentucky, and a coworker brought some meat to grill up. Here is some chorizo ready to eat!

OK, what's up with these steaks?!? I don't remember that speckled weirdness. I just remember stuff tasted goods. Hm. Maybe it is sea salt?!
I was using the zoom tool to take a closer look at the steak speckles, when I panned over to the chorizo in its raw state. I do not advise looking at magnified, high-resolution photos of raw sausage. It's gross.

Wow, this is a very sausage-oriented blog so far. Ironically, I don't eat that much meat. I usually have to remind myself to eat protein. I guess I am doing a good job of reminding myself to eat meat more often.

I just realized that the dates/timestamps on my old photos must be wrong, because why would I be at the State Fair on a Wednesday?

Anyway, after those two posts I started wondering what other pictures of food were in my photo folders. Here is one taken at the TN State Fair. I was trying to capture this corn dog, which consisted of two smaller hot dogs laced end to end, yet covered with one contiguous sheath of corn... cornmeal, is it? It was a surprising and mildly disturbing find. Because it looked like one large hot dog. I remember finding we found it so funny, that we all got the giggles and I couldn't really take a picture because I was laughing so hard.

Had to be there, I guess.

A bone-in pork chop, just broiled I think. I think the bone-in ones were on sale. I don't know what the difference is really, besides the bone. It did taste "meatier" though. I zapped some lil' red potatoes then tossed them around the pan to brown em up a bit. Probably rosemary, pepper, salt, olive oil on those. Looks like peppers and onions on the side there. I guess I was not feeling cheap that week.

I wonder why red peppers cost so much more than green ones? Also, I don't know why they are priced by-the-pepper here in Nashville, but in New Jersey, they are priced by the pound. This makes it difficult for my mom and I to compare produce prices. This topic, that of produce price comparisons, is a very common topic of conversation. Stuff always seems cheaper up there. It is the Garden State, I guess.

I should weigh some indvidual peppers and do the math.

Tiny squash, so cute!

I sometimes have sausage and pepper cravings. Like mom used to make. Or, like I would get at church carnivals, back in the day, but with less grease. Basically this is New Jersey Italian-American comfort food for me. ANyway, I remember peppers were expensive, so I got a lot of squash instead. Yes, I realize those two things are not the same. Here it is, in a wok. Very italian.

I had it with a salad. Also, this is turkey sausage from Wild Oats, so there's the healthy twist to it.
